COVID-19 Response Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney’s Resort & Spa has always provided a welcome hideaway for travelers seeking an escape from the every day, and the wellbeing of those who stay with us is our priority. We’ve initiated new best practices to ensure our guests can safely enjoy the serenity of our Sonoran retreat. The renowned Sanctuary experience remains the same: 53 expansive desert acres that invite exploration, sweeping Paradise Valley views from our signature infinity-edge pool, and spacious casitas and villas that are situated and designed for privacy. We look forward to extending you our warmest Sanctuary welcome. Enhanced safety protocols and adjusted operations The wellbeing of guests and staff remains our priority. While Sanctuary is the same beautiful resort that you love, there will be new protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety. The adjustments we’re making are informed by recommendations from leading global, national and state authorities. Some changes will be in plain sight, while others are organized behind the scenes. All are designed to safeguard our guests and associates, and we hope to offer peace of mind so that you can enjoy your time in this beautiful slice of paradise. Resort Facilities Open: Resort accommodations, including villas, are open, as are recreation facilities including our infinity pool, lap pool, fitness center, movement studio and tennis courts. The Spa is offering a variety of treatments including massages, facials and body treatments. The Salon is available for hair services, manicures and pedicures as is the Sanctuary Boutique. In-room and poolside dining are available. Elements restaurant and jade bar are open for daily dining and cocktail services. Check-in/Check-out: Digital versions of guest maps, dining confirmations and spa reservations can also be sent to guests’ mobile devices upon request. Guest folios are available via their guestroom television and guests can check out remotely. Bell Service/Valet: Valet and bell services are available upon request, with additional disinfection protocols in place. Golf cart rides can be provided throughout the resort while maintaining social distancing. Guestrooms: Additional disinfection processes have been implemented for all guestrooms, including telephones, remotes and all surfaces. Guests may now use their mobile devices to control their guestroom television. Our guest services team will be happy to assist with downloading the required app and assisting with the setup process upon arrival. Wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed in the bathroom of every guest room. Each guestroom has its own HVAC unit. Guest Services: Guests have access to a user-friendly text messaging system that is monitored by our Guest Service team 24-hours a day. Guests may text all housekeeping, maintenance, front desk or concierge requests from their personal mobile device. Our guest services team can also send digital PDF versions of hiking maps, driving directions or anything else that a guest may require. Spa: Additional air filters are in each treatment room for cleaner air. Showers in locker rooms are cleaned and sanitized after each use. Fitness Center: Additional cleaning protocols have been implemented to sanitize machines and equipment after each use. Restaurant Services: We request guests arrive no more than 10 minutes prior for their dinner reservation as the waiting area and jade bar may have limited capacity. Infinity Pool: The pool is undergoing enhanced cleaning procedures in between each guest usage and overnight disinfectant of all materials. The pool can fill up quickly so plan your day so you can enjoy all of our poolside amenities, such as light delicious cuisine from elements restaurant and delicious beverages. New Procedures While the list of safety steps we’re initiating across the resort is too lengthy to share here, rest assured it is comprehensive and in accordance with the best recommendations available. Sample steps include: Hand sanitizer is available for all staff and guests throughout the property. Personal protective equipment provided to staff with training on proper use, including gloves and masks. Enhanced sanitizing procedures including new protocols for housekeeping staff to address guestrooms after check-out, the cleaning of front desk touchpoints and golf carts and hourly cleaning of handrails, door rails and other common areas. Use of industrial electrostatic sanitization in all areas of the resort, including spa, restaurant, bar and kitchen. Adjustment of the table and seating options in public areas, at the pool, the restaurant and bar, and spa to ensure guests are appropriately social distancing, with sanitizing after each use.
