Welcome to 2022!
We kicked off New Year’s weekend with an intentional focus on health & wellness across all Gurney’s Resorts. In Montauk, we started with a Mixology session hosted by Hendricks in the Regent Cocktail Club. Guests sipped on a Winter Gin Punch served with coconut shrimp, a delicious blend of sweet and savory.
On Friday, guests attended a Journaling & Fire Ceremony hosted by Laura Rubin of Allswell Creative zooming in from Malibu and local facilitator Rachel Goldberg. The introspective workshop included journaling exercises and ended with a bonfire burning ceremony on the beach, allowing us to intentionally start the year renewed and ready to conquer 2022. Ghia Non-Alcoholic Aperitifs, Homesick Candles, WTHN herbal wellness packets and Juna World CBD provided gifts for guests to continue their wellness practices at home.
Guests enjoyed a four-course dining experience at Scarpetta Beach followed by our New Year's Eve Party, featuring live music by Rakiem Walker Project, hors d'oeuvres, and a premium open bar.
To recover from the festivities, Chef Doug Forgione prepared a special brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday featuring Bananas Foster French Toast, Mediterranean Shakshuka and Cauliflower Carbonara. For those who wanted to continue the party, DJ Markciano played an intimate disco vinyl set, accompanied by Gurney’s signature craft cocktails in the Regent Cocktail Club.
Families and kids stayed entertained all weekend long with arts & crafts, holiday cookie decorating, and bingo in the Kid’s Club.
After starting 2022 right with intention setting, meditation and yoga, guests then enjoyed brunch with the Poetry Society of New York where guests got to experience a one-on-one moment with a typewriter poet and receive a customized poem along with Juna CBD cocktails. In Newport, guests kicked off the New Year with energy and excitement. Who says you need a mountain lodge to après? Guests and locals alike enjoyed our igloo dining experiences and warmed up by our outdoor fire pits for a true après skate experience with cocktails, DJ's and delicious bites to snack on.
We featured a prix fixe New Year's Eve dinner at Showfish followed by a celebratory party with DJ sets, hors d'oeuvres and a premium hosted bar.
Out West in Scottsdale, our New Years Eve Dinner at Elements was a hit, featuring a four-course prix fixe menu with Krug Champagne. Celebrations continued at the Jade Bar with entertainment for all, a bottle of Krug, party favors, music and dancing to ring in the new year.
