COVID-19 Response

Gurney’s Resorts most important consideration is the health and well-being of our community, and as the COVID-19 situation evolves, we continue to update our policies and procedures with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). We have taken every step possible to ensure your safety, from check-in to check-out, including the addition of rigorous cleaning protocols, increasing the frequency of cleaning and placing hand sanitizing stations throughout the property.

We have implemented a flexible reservations policy for June, and reservations can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.

Steps we've taken for our reopening include:

  • Self Parking
  • Hand sanitizing stations, antibacterial wipes and masks throughout the property
  • Arrival package inclusive of your room key, letter from your Resort Manager, and details on our in-room programming offerings
  • Complimentary mask and sanitation wipes available
  • In-room programming including expanded in-room dining menus, curated playlists and kids activity kits
  • Robust room service and grab-and-go menus
  • New lobster bake menu to enjoy around the resort
  • Utilization of additional outdoor spaces throughout the resort

In accordance with the self-quarantine mandate issued by the Governor of New York, all Gurney’s Montauk & Gurney’s Star Island guests arriving into New York on or after June 25, 2020, will be strongly suggested to self-quarantine in their room or suite for 14 days. Special arrangements will be made such as in-room dining fulfillment in order to ensure guests are cared for while maintaining the safety of all guests and associates.

Guests showing no symptoms after the 14 day self-quarantine period will be permitted to move freely throughout the resort. Additionally, visitors to Montauk that show no symptoms, may leave at any point during their stay.

As we have you arriving at the resort we need to advise that New York State mandates the following Quarantine Requirements from DOH:

  • The individual must not be in public or otherwise leave the quarters that they have identified as suitable for their quarantine.
  • The individual must be situated in separate quarters with a separate bathroom facility for each individual or family group. Access to a sink with soap, water, and paper towels is necessary. Cleaning supplies (e.g. household cleaning wipes, bleach) must be provided in any shared bathroom.
  • The individual must have a way to self-quarantine from household members as soon as fever or other symptoms develop, in a separate room(s) with a separate door. Given that an exposed person might become ill while sleeping, the exposed person must sleep in a separate bedroom from household members.
  • Food must be delivered to the person’s quarters.
  • Quarters must have a supply of face masks for individuals to put on if they become symptomatic.
  • Garbage must be bagged and left outside for routine pick up. Special handling is not required.
  • A system for temperature and symptom monitoring must be implemented to provide assessment in-place for the quarantined persons in their separate quarters.
