Sanctuary's Finest Spring Cocktail

The Nacho Libre is one of our favorite tequila cocktails crafted exclusively for Sanctuary by our resident mixologist Christiaan Röllich. Nacho Libre 
Tequila and black strap with Chinese five spice and blood orange 

Glass: Double Old Fashioned 
Garnish: Edible Flowers

1 ½ oz Blanco tequila 
1 oz fresh lime 
¾ oz Chinese five spice syrup 
1 oz blood orange 

Chinese five spice syrup 
¼ tsp pepper corns 
1 star anise 
1/8th tsp whole cloves 
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp fennel seeds 
1 tbsp black strap molasses 

1 ½ cups sugar 
1 cups H2O 

Put all the spices minus black strap into a mortar and pestle, roughly crack all the spices.

Add the sugar, water, black strap and spices in a medium size saucepan. Give it a quick stir and bring to a boil.
When sugar is dissolved take it off the fire and let it cool to room temp. Strain it through a cheese cloth or chinois, and it’s ready for use. Shake and pour into a Double Old Fashioned glass and garnish with edible flowers.
