Get Outside:

Walking Dunes in Hither Hills State Park 

Visit the “walking dunes” trail on the east side of Hither Hills State Park overlooking Napeague Harbor. Here, you’ll find otherworldly views and sandy dunes that can reach up to 80 feet high.


Be Adventurous:

Block Island Winter Cod Fishing 

Departing straight from Montauk Harbor, join an early-morning fishing adventure with Viking Fleet in the waters surrounding Block Island.


Explore the Great Indoors:

Long Island Aquarium 

Spend the day learning about marine life and environmental preservation at the Long Island Aquarium.

Tip: If you reserve an aquatic adventure ahead of time, you can take a selfie with a penguin!

Seal Watch Tour 

Join a seal watch—which includes a tour of the nearby Rose Island—aboard one of Save the Bay's educational vessels in Newport Harbor.

Easier than it sounds, hike a section of the Cliff Walk, the 3.5-mile path along the eastern shore of Newport.

Tip: While some areas are paved and safe for strollers, others can be rocky—make sure to plan ahead!
