Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney’s Resort & Spa
Home to the largest marina in the Hamptons, Gurney's Star Island Resort is a glamorous retreat right on the water. With luxuriously renovated accommodations (not to mention an array of restaurants, bars, and outdoor activities), our 15-acre resort has it all and more.
We’re open for another season in Montauk, and we’ve added a handful of top-notch amenities to make this year a splash—here’s just a glimpse of what’s waiting for you.
Along with our 107 luxury guest rooms, suites, and villas, our serene public spaces were recently renovated with a new look inspired by the property’s nautical history. Dating back to 1928, the former Montauk Yacht Club catered to legendary American aristocrats, including the Astors and Vanderbilts.
Today, the resort continues to raise the bar and now features an indoor heated pool and two outdoor pools (open seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend) along with a private beach on the shore of Lake Montauk with paddle boarding and kayaking for guests. Stop by the Gurney’s General Store for a curated collection of branded gear and new collaborations with Garrett Leight and Onia, and as if that’s not enough, the resort’s unique dining destinations, outdoor tennis courts, bocce ball court, and world-class marina will round out the expansive resort's luxurious amenities. Plus, you can even travel to Gurney’s Montauk to hit the beach by way of our complimentary Gurney’s shuttle, available from sunup to sundown each day.
Recognized by Yachting Magazine as one of the country’s top marina destinations, our 232-slip marina, located at Gurney's Star Island, offers ample space for vessels up to 220 feet. A longtime favorite among the East Coast boating community, our marina is a boater's dream destination: marina guests receive all of our exclusive resort privileges, including room service delivered on board.
EAT AND DRINK
Gurney's Star Island Resort & Marina is home to three distinctive restaurants and bars: Showfish, The Pool Club, and Il Forno. Now in its fourth season, the seafood-forward menu at Showfish is mostly sourced from the East End, spotlighting local vegetables and meats alongside fresh lobsters and oysters. And while the flavor is decadent, it’s a feast for the eyes, too—the restaurant offers stunning marina views throughout its expansive indoor and outdoor seating options (pro tip: join us at sunset for a spectacular view of Montauk Lake at night).
Keen for something casual? Il Forno prepares specialty Neapolitan-style pizzas in a brick oven and doubles as a grab-and-go market for marina and hotel guests. But if you’re sticking around, The Pool Club serves poolside bites and frozen drinks overlooking one of our outdoor pools, Star Island’s famous lighthouse, and the marina. Better yet? On weekends, you’ll find live music and DJs to set the mood.
Our outdoor classes return every weekend, and we’re kicking them off Memorial Day Weekend. We’ll have wellness instructors alongside some of your favorite fitness influencers teaching classes all summer long. Classes are complimentary for hotel guests—lucky you!
NEW FOR 2022
Our all-new Sunset Pier Bar in partnership with Casamigos, will offer specialty cocktails all season long. Watches Of Switzerland is back in June for the 2022 season, featuring a shoppable airstream that houses rare and unique timepieces from around the world (they’re sure to please the most discerning collator).
For our youngest guests, Camp Gurney’s, in partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program, will return once again this summer. Camp Gurney’s offers children under 12 the opportunity to learn about marine conservation and be inspired by the sea while having fun with our Cornell Marine Educators.
